What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Please let me know at least 48 hours before your appointment. The easiest way is the cancel or reschedule link in your confirmation email. You can also email me at hello@amyfurr.com.
Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice, and no-shows, are charged the full session fee.
How long are sessions?
How long are sessions?
Your first session is 75 minutes. We’ll talk through your goals, I’ll do a brief interview and assessment, and we’ll finish with a short practice session. Follow-up sessions are usually 75 minutes too, but length and frequency depend on what you need. We’ll decide together during your first session.
What should I wear or bring?
What should I wear or bring?
Wear comfortable clothes you can move in, and bring a yoga mat if you have one. For in-person sessions, I have extra yoga mats, blankets, and props. For online sessions, find a quiet space with room to lie down, plus a mat or blanket and a pillow. Props are nice but not required. If you don't have yoga-specific props at home, books, blankets, chairs, and towels work well.
What can I expect from the first session?
What can I expect from the first session?
During your first visit (75 minutes), I’ll guide you through an interactive assessment, including an interview, medical history review, and postural and breath assessment.
Together, we’ll establish an intention and framework for what you need from yoga therapy.
I’ll create a curated practice for you to do both in-session and at home.
Do you offer both online and in-person sessions?
Do you offer both online and in-person sessions?
Yes. I offer in-person sessions in Austin, TX. If you're out of town or simply prefer to meet from the comfort of your home, I offer flexible virtual sessions via Zoom.
How many sessions will I need?
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on what you’re working on. I usually recommend starting with your first session and three to four follow-ups. That gives us enough time to build a practice and see how it’s working.
We’ll talk about a specific plan at the end of your first session. After that, you decide what’s next, whether that’s continuing, checking in less often, or practicing on your own.
